This striking ring is made from casting a collection of miniature bas-relief sculptures from the 18th and 19th centuries. The originals were created to depict paintings and sculptures of classical or mythilogical thematic and were collected by young people from England and Northern Europe during their travels to Italy and France. They are known as "Grand Tour Souvenirs".
